It’s the next 2013 Changemaker Nomination suggested by a chocolate lover like you!

Congratulations to Mary Ellen Rogers of Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelterseabiscuitshelter.blogspot.com and facebook.com/pages/Sea-Biscuit-Wildlife-Shelter

Here’s what Noelle has to say about this fearless individual:

“Mary Ellen is a women in her mid seventies who started a bird rescue/rehab shelter in an are area with a great need for one.  She relies on volunteers, donations and works part time to keep up with the shelter’s needs.  She is an inspiration to everyone who comes into contact with her.  Mary Ellen cares so much about the birds and does everything in her power to bring them back to health.”

A little more info:

33_SeaBiscuitWildlifeShelter“The Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter cares for injured or orphaned birds. We provide minimum medical care, safety from predators, food and shelter from the elements. When an animal is able to care for itself, it is released to the wild. We do not keep nonreleasable animals nor use heroic methods to sustain the quality of their life. However, the Shelter does make every effort to rehabilitate an endangered species and every animal brought here is treated with respect and caring.”
